Mindful May!

Thank you to Meredith Edelstein, Steward School Psychologist, for sharing this information with Proctor School!

There has been increasing discussion of mindfulness in education, and the evidence for mindfulness is increasing left and right. In efforts to encourage mindfulness at at home and school, we have attached a Mindful May calendar that includes challenges for each day to help students develop mindfulness. Each day of the week has a theme (meditation Mondays, together Tuesdays, etc). The challenges are meant to be short (3-5 minutes, sometimes a bit longer) and are designed to help teachers/parents find different ways to incorporate mindfulness into classroom routines.

In addition to discussing mindfulness, teachers and families have access to a "Mrs. Edelstein Friendships and Feelings Flick" on Mindfulness. Please feel free to watch and talk about mindfulness and meditation with your children. The video is at http://safeshare.tv/v/kv0Vtq6YDuk and is approximately 9 minutes long.

Enjoy and Happy May!
